The Tank Solution | Obeying Rigel

Rigel has messed up pretty badly, has she not? You should really read the previous two chapters before you read this one. They will help make things actually make some form of sense. I like forms of sense.

“We need to talk.” Rigel accosted Sadie when classes were done. Sadie noticed that she’d taken the time to shower and get changed, not to mention finish the class, so clearly the ‘need to talk’ wasn’t all that great.

Tank and Kate stood off a little ways, giving Rigel and Sadie a little privacy. Both looked worried in their own ways, though Sadie wasn’t at all sure as to why Tank cared so much, she’d barely said anything the whole time Sadie had been crying and cursing Rigel.

“I don’t think so,” Sadie said. Her tears had finally dried, and she wasn’t interested in starting more.

Wow. I didn’t see that coming. (No big surprise there. *g*)

Not sure how I feel about Rigel’s fall from grace. She deserved to be called out for using people, that’s for sure. But she did seem to care about Sadie in the beginning, as well as understand her. Hopefully she’ll get her head out of her butt and straighten up. Er…so to speak. *g*

Way to keep us enthralled, Rebel Author! :)

Yes, we wouldn’t want Rigel going too straight now, would we? *grins*

Hmm, I’m not sure how I feel about this one (the writing is fabulous of course :D )

    I think Chicklet’s fever is catching O.o
Actually mine is self induced. Went and got myself a nice big sunburn >:(

Will have to read it again tomorrow with more of a clear head.

Oh no, Mackenzie -I’m so sorry. I hope it’s not too severe and that you feel better soon. :) I wish I had some helpful advice, but my brain is fried-I don’t even think I know my name right now.

Sunburn or sun-stroke *shakes head* all the brats seem to be in the wars today. Perhaps its time SB started a policy that everyone must wrap up in bubble wrap before going outside.

I can’t speak for the others, but it wouldn’t do any good cuz I’m sure I’d have every bubble popped before I was even wrapped in it.

    Sunburn. Stupidity induced.
I was out beach with absolutely NO sunblock on my pasty white self.
I am in pain. It hurts. Oww. Feel sorry for me :(

Oh Mackenzie–I do feel sorry for you. Have you tried any Lidocaine, Aloe, Noxema anything to help with the pain and discomfort?

Why would you go to the beach without any sunblock? Was it a spur of the moment thing while you were driving by?

Thank you so much for the ice pack placement suggestion. You’re awesome. :D

I have aloe. Putting it on like I’ll die without it!

I was surfing, so I was in the water a lot and I was wearing a wet suit most of the time. I was just too impatient to put it on. Wanted to Suuuuuuurf!

My face, neck and hands got the worst of it but when I got tired I peeled down the top half of my suit and was just hanging out on the beach so my back and shoulders got a fair dose too.

Hope you have the day off to cool and rehydrate. (Just thinking out loud-not trying to piss you off) Were you by yourself or did you go with someone that might have not mentioned, “Yo waves are here all day, best take 2 minutes to put on sunblock on.” or did they mention it and you decided to surf first, burn second?

I wish I could make it go away for you. :(

I’m with you that public discipline is great for public bratting in storyland.

I absolutely was not alone. The beach I was at all but prohibits surfing due to the nasty undercurrents and cross waves. I actually got hit by one and bailed pretty hard. It threw me down so hard I hit the bottom and bruised my hip >:(
It was still wicked fun though! :D

My friend, however, is much darker than I am so they didn’t really think of sunblock. And considering my profession and the pasty whiteness of my pale ass … I really do know better. Was just lazy and impatient. Now I’m suffering the consequences :(

I’m glad you’re feeling better. Glad those physiology classes were good for more than napping :)

Glad to hear you weren’t alone and that you’re okay, especially after hearing about your bruised hip and the thought that it could have been worse. You lil dare brat. Have you learned your lesson? (at least til the next time) ;) I’m sorry you’re hurting–wish I could help you like you helped me. Unless of course, it hurts so good. (Do you and your friends ever say that?)

THANK YOU AGAIN–the doctor was happy that I had a friend that knew what to do to get me through the night. He’s concerned about the high temps even though I’ve had such extreme temps all my life–I’ve never been so sick as I have lately. It was just 4 wks ago that I was this sick. He spent 1.5 hours seeing me – now 2 shots and 4 prescriptions plus what I’m taking now and a long list of things to do. No lollipop like the crying kid–and they made me bleed when the RN gave me the shots, so I bought an ice cream cone(probably not the best thing)–then my phone rings and it’s my Cpt. I might actually have to go to work tonight. He’ll call me within the hour to let me know.

Wow chicklet, that sucks. I hope you feel better soon. Maybe it’s time to take some time off work if you can? I can’t imagine any work place that would be particularly improved by someone fevering all over it. And, of course, you need a break to get better in!

    1chicklet Reply:

Don’t have 2 work afterall, but not b/c I’m sick. I am scheduled to rtn on 23rd @1645(normal days off rotation). We are extrememly short right now and we need all living, breathing bodies to show up(I did call in 2x this wk, don’t like to-but I also worked 2 days extremely sick. Regardless of the reason, time off is really not being approved right now and it won’t be in the foreseeable future.
*Did everyone read Alyx’s T W o J? I work in the same setting–security is a priority to ensure safety for all(Us,Public,Property, andThem). Imagine going to the market in a big city on a holiday friday around 1730 and only having 1 out of every 7-10 registers open.(having 1 out of 7 is alot safer than 1 out of 10)

Does he or she know you’re sick? You might want to mention that fact when you say “no, I can’t work tonight”
That’s what sick days are for! Use a couple!

    Okay, re-read.
I must say I feel a bit sorry for Rigel getting her butt beat so publicly but I guess if you’re going to be an ass in public, you deserve to have it smacked in pubic … at least in storyland, anyway.

Tank is awesome. One of those quiet, in the background types who is actually very good hearted.
