Can tigers change their stripes? Does a banana deserve hope? Why are gorillas so adept at racing tiny carts? These questions and more not really answered in this installment of Obeying Rigel.
Motors revved as the traffic light held by the fluffy cloud began the countdown. Red. Orange. Green! Sadie slammed the accelerator button down, only to spin out at the start line and end up a good few yards behind her competitors, a giant gorilla, a plumber, and a princess in a pink dress.
Gritting her teeth, Sadie swerved masterfully around a banana treacherously left on the track and hunted the leaders down. She would not lose again. Not this time.
A knock at the door behind her barely registered on her consciousness as she rounded a sandy corner and almost ran into a train.
“Sadie,” it was Kate’s voice. Sadie frowned. Kate knew better than to interrupt her at moments like these. In response, Sadie grunted and nodded her head at the television.
“Sadie.”
Why was Kate still saying her name? Was the house on fire? Had she contracted leprosy?
“Sadie!” Kate’s voice sounded oddly strained, but Sadie didn’t care. She was hyper-focused now, right on the princesses tail.
“It’s okay, I’ll wait.”
Fuck. Sadie skidded off the track and into a cactus. It was Rigel.

MarioKart?
I do think Rigel getting her own place is a wise idea.
Seems like somone had some humble pie. Glad Sadie is willing to give Rigel (and herself) another chance. Happy to see that Sadie took the higher road and decided not to cut her nose to spite her face. It’s not easy opening yourself up to someone that has destroyed the your trust before. They have a long road ahead of them, or maybe not since this is fiction afterall.
Loki this is the CHERRY TOPPING on a great day(well after the steriod and antibiotic shots)

Hell yes Mario Kart, though I hope Nintendo doesn’t sue me now for mentioning its existence
I’m glad you had a good day, aside from the needles. Mind you, at least needles save copious amounts of pills, one hopes. Damn pills.

My bad–I should’ve put initials for the game in question.
Really?–cuz someone needs to tell my doctor- I have 4 different prescriptons he gave me of damn horse pills that I have to take along with the steriods and pain pills I’m already taking. (I don’t do well with pills–so if anyone ever says that I ever overdosed on pills–please start investigating)
Please tell me your not going to put these characters on a shelf just yet.

Awwwwww, that’s such a great ending

Bummer Dudette–I still have mine–as a matter of fact I have 2 N64 games systems. Would you like one?

I LOVE how many people actually have this system and know it.
Just FYI, if you ever owned the system and bought the games, it is legal for you to run a computer emulation program and play them on your PC in ROM format.
All of mine are on my PC now.

Thanks for the 411. I, however am old school–I much rather have the game console. Heck I even own the original pong console.

Thanks
My burn is sucking big fat sweaty hairy ass crack.
It itches but it burns so I can’t scratch it and it’s peeling! Now THAT is a sexy look. Dead skin peeling off my body. I feel soooooo hot.
Gah! perhaps I will learn … not likely though. This isn’t even my first burn this month >:(
How’s the fever and phlegm fest?

Wow, I’ll be up all damn night so that I don’t have any nightmares after that wonderful description.
Poor 2 of 5 aren’t you wishing you had some of those damn borg nanoprobes? What do you mean it’s not your first burn this month? We’re just past mid-month….it appears to me that someone hasn’t been doing what she needs to–maybe Lady Constance needs to pay a visit.
Fever is gone, but I have an ear infection, and both upper and lower respiratory infections. Not really any phlegm cause everything is swollen and constricted. My oxygen level sucked and let’s not talk about my BP that I’ve never had a problem with. I’m glad I decided not to cancel the appt.(really I went cuz I didn’t want to have to tell you guys I didn’t go–so glad for peer pressure even though there wasn’t anything but kind well wishes) and so is the doctor. I’ll have to see him Thursday and there are some tests we have to run over the next few weeks. However, I have a sore backside b/c of the 2 shots–right now I’m so glad I don’t get spankings.

Damn–this chapter gets better and better every time I read it.
I’ll have it memorized pretty soon.
Is Rigel going to be apologizing to Kate, and the other students as well? It’s not just Sadie she wronged.
[Reply]
Wow, this was a wonderful chapter. Rigel was sincerely sorry, Sadie was wisely forgiving, and they ended up agreeing on an arrangement they both could live with! (The “spanking as much as you need” arrangement, I mean. Too early to say whether Rigel can change her stripes re: the polymorphic thing. *g*)
A real-feel good series you got here, Ms. Renard. Thank you so much for treating us to so many chapters in a row!
