The thing about surprises is that they’re always so unexpected, even when you really should have seen them coming.
Sunday mornings were Sadie’s favorite mornings. Slow and lazy and without any obligation to anyone, they were the perfect day. If Sadie had her way, all mornings would be Sunday mornings. On this particular Sunday she had woken up at 10.30 am with a slightly warm behind from one of Rigel’s ministrations, stretched and dozed in until 11.30, by which time her stomach was threatening to eat its way out of her body.
With a growling tummy, she made her way into the kitchen, scuffing her feet and with her doggie motif pajamas buttoned in a skewed fashion which made one side hang down a good few inches longer than the other, which was hiked up almost to her belly button.
Wiping sleep out of her eyes and muttering to herself about having to always eat food every day, Sadie accidentally walked into the wall, swore and ricocheted herself back towards the kitchen, where the scent of brewing coffee called to her.
Here’s a bit more…. the aftermath, if you will…
Things came to pass much as Martine had said they would. Within the week, Rigel had moved out, leaving Kate and Sadie to their own devices once more. She seemed utterly unaware of the trouble that had been caused by her leaving, which Sadie blamed her for in spite of the fact that both Sadie and Kate had gone out of their way to be as falsely pleasant as possible to both Rigel and Martine. If Rigel wanted to go, she could go, there was no point getting all soppy and telling her that it hurt Sadie’s feelings. Sadie hoped that it would be easier after Rigel left, and in a way, it was. There was no daily reminder that she was being abandoned for not being pretty enough or sophisticated enough or whatever it was that Rigel saw in Martine.

OMG. I don’t believe it! Tell me it ain’t so. *wail* That’s so….sad. So painful.
You’re a brilliant writer, Loki. No question about that. And plot twists like this are one reason why. But this chapter…ouch.

I’m glad Sadie called Rigel on her sh*t. “Polyamorous” is a cop-out when you have a life partner and don’t mention it. :p

It’s up now, Chicklet. Thanks for asking.
But anyone with a fever like you have should be in bed! *stern look*

I have been in bed, except to take showers to lower temp. I have slept some, but it’s in small spurts. I wake up when it starts climbing again. I bet if my skull did split open and the pressure was relieved I could get some more sleep.
Trying Mackenzie’s prescription of ice packs, but need something to read to help me get my mind off of how miserable I feel. Thank you

My temp of 103.5 has my head swimming. Will someone please help me out? So, did I miss where Rigel told Sadie what was bothering her? Oh, and how the heck do you not tell someone you have a “life partner”? **Not meaning to offend anyone if I don’t word this pc, I’m just thinking out loud and even that is too loud for my headache** What happened to being honest and open? Regardless of what type of relationship, honesty is a must. What is going on in Rigel’s head and heart? Right now my non-existent heart is aching for Sadie and even Katie. I know, I know I need to give Rigel a chance to explain herself to them, but IMO I believe she had that chance and chose not to.
Loki help me out–please tell me you have the next installment ready and waiting. *

All I can say is that Rigel already proved to have some significant communication issues…
There is of course, more to this story, but things are bumpy at the moment.

Well, now we can add her eyesight to that list as well. She has more than proven that she past the end of her nose.
Bumpy? IMO it’s more of a mine field. (Feelings, thoughts and emotions–worse than IEDs)

Oh and Chicklet, why aren’t you at the doctor? Last I checked, those numbers were very large for a human being.

Yep, esp. when you’re normal temp range is 96.9-97.2 Cuz–I don’t think it’s a good idea for me to be driving right now, especially dizzy and at night. I thought I was getting better but I was wrong. I’ll spend the night trying to get it under control and go in the morning.

Poor chicklet
103 is definitely not good. Do you have an ice pack? frozen peas?
Wrap them in a tea towel and put them on the side of your neck, just below your jaw (over your carotid and jugular) DON’T push hard, just let the ice pack rest. 5 minutes per side. If it burns or goes numb, STOP and let the skin warm up again, then wrap the ice pack in a thicker towel. Another one at the back on the back of your neck, at the base of your skull will help too.
Works for migraines as well
Then go see a Doctor.

Thank you so very much Mackenzie.
I had not even thought about using my stay dry ice pack. I guess I’m not thinking clearly. (What’s new huh?)
Lukewarm shower and starting ice pack treatment=102.4
I feel like I’m referring to radio stations. hehehe

Oh, poor little Sadie :’(
Okay, we’ve gone back to ‘Rigel is a bitch’.
That was so not cool of her. Not cool at all.
This whole poly thing is for the birds, dude. I couldn’t do it. Too territorial. Mine! Not yours! >:(

I agree that the coolness factor is lacking at this point in time. Very much so.
