Pupdate

Oh my god. That thing where a puppy sees you and starts wagging its tail and then it gets the full body wag on and then it runnnns toward you at the highest speed it has, but it is still wagging so it has a sort of helicopter butt effect as it runs. It’s the cutest thing in the world.

EDIT: A proper pupdate is in order, I think. One of the foster puppies found a home, and the other is going to live with us for ever and ever. That means we have four dogs, but one of them is really small, only really 1/8th of a dog, so it’s really 3 and one eighth dogs, which is totally reasonable and also awesome.

The puppy we’re keeping is the sweetest little dog I’ve ever had. She’ll snuggle with anyone. She had her booster shot the other day and afterward she immediately attempted a full body snuggle complete with neck nuzzle with the vet. If, at any time, she spies an open lap, she will immediately curl up in it and fall asleep. Sometimes it’s not even a lap. Sometimes someone might lay down to try to take some pictures and she might decide that their butt makes a nice bed.

Your post about the abandoned puppies just made me want to cry, are you going to keep them if you don’t find permanent homes, five dogs must be hard work?

I know what you mean about the whole body wag thing they do haha..has to be the best welcome home anyone could get, even when their enthusiasm does nearly flatten you!!

I updated the post to answer your question, Sandy! There are so many puppies and dogs without homes in the city at the moment, so there wasn’t a lot of interest in these puppies, which admittedly don’t look like much. This many dogs is a lot of work, but hey, it keeps me out of trouble :).

My goodness Loki! Your pup is absolutely perfect! You turned me into a dog lover. I won’t ever have anything that is alive and has a face (I gotta credit sparrow for this line) but that’s because I don’t trust myself enough to care properly for them. But seriously, thanks to these posts on your pups I actually look for puppy videos on youtube and whatnot.

The picture is super duper cute. 🙂

I am so glad both pups found homes and that this pup is the sweetest. Super sweet that she went to hug the vet after the vet gave her the shoot. I bet a cat would never have done that. 😉

Some kitties are pretty sweet too, DD. I’m not a specieist. I’m glad you have come to enjoy doggies 🙂

I apologise to kitties. That was unfair stereotyping and fairly specist of me indeed. 😉

Yay for doggies and kitties and little rats and the whole zoo of Ther Renard!

To clarify, sparrow was quoting someone else.

I, on the other hand, have a raging case of ACD….. Accumulative Critter Disorder. If I could, I’d have a veritable zoo !

What is a potcake, precisely, Bahamagirl? Ohhhh, I googled it. Yannow, I think that type of dog must be as close as domestic dogs get to a wild-type, on account of that’s the sort of appearance you get with what they call ‘pound puppies’ here.

I love it! We have 7 dogs, all rescues and I’m currently in trouble for bringing home another puppy but it was on the side of the road, skinny, covered in fleas, I wasn’t leaving it! (And yes I rubbed a little extra dirt on her so she would look even more pitiful.) I tell everybody to take it up with God cause He knows I’m gonna take it home, so since he allowed me to see it He must’ve wanted me to rescue it, just saying. Fortunately I’m a veterinarian technician so I get all my shots, wormer etc. for free. Kudos to you for caring about them. I usually bring home the old or ugly or sick ones, then it’s really a fight but this one just happened to be cute after she cleaned up. Anybody need a puppy?

Seven doggies! I had to pinky promise we wouldn’t get any more dogs in order to get the man to agree to keep this latest addition. It’s awesome you take care of so many doggies, and older ones too.

The pup is adorable, I hope s/he finds a good home one way or another 😉

Oh, and bonus points for use of religiosity for the acquiring and snuggling of doggies. 😀

Thanks for the pupdate, Loki. And especially the description of the helicopter butt. 😀 Dogs are the best, and I’m glad your sweetie found a good home.

Thanks, I guess religion can serve a purpose after all! A pinky promise, that’s big, makes me wonder what you will have to do for the next one….
