Have you ever run into the problem with “specific” and “Pacific” I hear the “pacifically speaking” a lot. Pacific is an ocean, hello???? Today I heard “necked” instead of “naked”–I wanted to say something to my Sgt., but thought best not to in front of 33 other people.

LOL. That was quite a rant, RBG. I guess because I’m a writer (rather than a stage director, or whatever it is you do), seeing them mess up the language in print bothers me more.

Like using “dominate” when they mean “dominant,” or vice versa. Or seeing they weren’t “phased” by something, and they weren’t in a Star Trek fanfic story. But the worst is messing with “probably”: I hate HATE HATE seeing the word “prolly”! Arrrgh!

(Cue Ms. Renard’s next post using that word…I guarantee ya. )
