Fingers of dawn began to creep over the horizon of the great city of Iskendar, but someone was up before the sun. A young woman dressed in dark leggings and an oversized tunic crept along the parapets of the royal castle, a slim dark silhouette against the faintly lit skies. There was a slight limp in her gait, and a slight rattle of breath as the effort of sustained motion seemed to cause her some distress.
“Bloody sickness,” Kai swore to herself as she stopped and wiped her mouth and nose on the back of her sleeve. Illana said she was no longer contagious, but she certainly was still feeling the effects of the illness. Illana had also told her to rest, but there was no rest for the wicked, and there was certainly no rest for Kai.

This was a funny chapter. I saw it coming, but still…such a heartstopper to be snuggling up next to The Big Meanie. *LOL* Kai deserves whatever’s coming to her for not being able to tell Constance apart from Lucy!

You’re doing such a wonderful job of keeping us on our toes with your twists and turns. Just when I think Kai is taking a step forward–she takes two steps back.
My heart goes out to poor Kai:( I can only hope for Kai’s sake that Constance(aka-Big Meanie)falls out of bed, bumps her head, and suffers a loss of memory(aka crs).
I’m not very good at being patient–but your rationing schedule is more than tolerable; especially when I recall that you had decided awhile ago to only post the free stuff once a week.

Though it certainly isn’t a rationing schedule 1chiclet, as soon as its out of my head and actually in coherent digital form, you have it
