Sometimes it takes a conflict to solve a conflict.
Chapter seven of Rebel Revelations everybunny! Enjoy!
After days of sulking in misery, avoiding all those she knew and those she did not, it was the unmistakable noise of conflict that finally drew Kai out of hiding. The granite barracks lined a large arena used for the purposes of training and they were often filled with aggressive manly shouts that Kai had learned to ignore for the most part as she took refuge atop the stone structures, where she was not visible from below. She suspected those whose business it was to know such things knew where she was, but they left her to her own devices, for which she was grateful.
She was laying on her back, warming herself in the midday sun when the sound of steel on steel interrupted her reverie. In between the clashing of blades, utter silence. That was exceptional. Her curiosity piqued, Kai peered over the edge.
Below, two feminine figures circled one another. It did not take long to recognize Constance, and, to Kai’s great pleasure, Queen Rael. Kai’s bottom did not sting anymore, but her pride stung deeply.
For days every move had reminded her of that blonde woman’s easy domination of her. Constance had made a fool out of Kai, and Kai could not forgive that. Rael on the other hand, Rael was the best fighter Kai had ever known. She would soon put that uppity wench in her place.
Wow—I didn’t see that coming–Big Meanie inviting Kai to join her and Lucy for dinner. I’m considering feeling bad about calling her “Big Meanie”–Nope–just can’t feel bad. Do I get something for trying? *vbg*
Rael is a great women–it takes someone very strong to admit they were bested and be so graceful about it.
Maybe a good heart to heart talk between Kai and Constance will help Kai understand, but then again, once a brat always a brat. We just can’t help ourselves

I’m glad Kai will get to see Lucy…I suspect things won’t go smoothly, that’s too much to hope.

*grin* YAY!!!! That was so much fun! I’m still giggling like a goon over Illana and the ice pack. Kai getting to see Lucy is even better. I’m so excited!!! Canes are still scary, yo. Evil, evil things. You’re very creative to have Constance use it instead of a sword, though. *grin* Good for you! This was really great =D I loved the feel of this chapter, the change of scenery, all of it was really refreshing and fun.

I’m predicting a squabble at the dinner table. I don’t think Lucy has completely forgiven Kai for betraying her, but Kai is so stubborn, she won’t back down. Constance will have to separate the pair of them and that will really piss her off. I can’t wait!
